This involves using something you found out yourself, when researching into a topic or subjects one usually documents their own findings via notes, photos and videos that you discovered or developed.
secondary research
This involves something you found out through another source eg the internet or any other source. This means that the original idea isn't yours but it is based on the original idea.

quantitative research
This is used to increase the amount of numerical data, for example online surveys and face to face interview.
qualitative research
This is primary exploratory research it is used to gain an understanding e.g unstructured interviews which generate qualitative data through the use of open questions.
legal consideration
This comes in when legal bonds to specific work is involved e.g royalties for an artist everytime their track is being played.
ethical consideration
ethical consideration is something to do with the public opinion of a media project eg bias
